Well the answer is , it depends. There are a good amount of bylaw templates you can source, so why reinvent the wheel?? On the other hand if your organization is for example a “Regulatory Body” acting under a Heath Authority I would say, absolutely, have your bylwas done by a lawyer who specializes in that area.
If you are going the template route I would strongley suggest that you have them revewed by a comeptant professional. If you are in British Columbia and are thinking about doing some bylaw updating don’t forget about the proposed new Provincial Society Act and how these proposed revisions may affect your bylaws.
