While speaking at a Board meeting it can be annoying to have someone interrupt you when you are speaking. If however you are using Roberts Rules of Order it is permissible to interrupt a speaker during certain ranking and non-ranking motions. Its best to know what these are so that if someone interrupts you while speaking at a Board meeting you need not to be annoyed but rather the person understands this portion of Roberts Rules and is applying them properly. So, in no particular order, you may interrupt a speaker in the case of:
- Calling for orders of the day.
- Raising a point of privilege
- Point of order
- Appeal
- Questions or Points of Information
- Object to Consideration ( to avoid
- Reconsider ( to bring back for review)
