- Counsel and advice. Giving the benefits of its judgement, business experience and familiarity with the local setting;
- Consult with the Executive on all matters which the Board is considering;
- Delegate responsibility for all Executive function;
- Refrain from handling, directly, administrative details;
- Making all the staff responsible to the Executive Director;
- Refer all communications to the Executive Director;
- Provide support so that the Executive Director and the staff may carry on their professional duties;
- Support the Executive Director in all decisions and actions consistent with policies of the Board and the standards of the association;
- Hold the Executive Director accountable for the supervision of the association;
- Fairly and honestly evaluate the work of the Executive Director on an annual basis.
