The Situation:
A request by the mover to remove the motion from consiteration.
Process:
After the motion has been stated by the presiding officer, it belows to the Board and the Board’s permission by majority vote is needed to withdraw the motion.
Benefit to you:
If the discussion reveals that your motion is not doing well, you can either vote on it or withdraw it. If the motion is withdrawn it is as ifit was never made and can thus be brought up later in the meeting.
Remeember, use this strategically and if you do want it withdrawn you will require a majority vote to have that done!
